THEOLOGY OF THE BODY

Ever wondered what our bodies have to do with our spirituality? Looking for a deeper understanding of sexuality? Join Simon and Helen this weekend for a talk and discussion of John Paul II's Theology of the Body. Please come if you are interested in learning about this beautiful teaching of the dignity of the human body, and exploring the depth of spirituality through this lens. The talk given will be based on the Archdiocese speaker program; if you think you might be called to bring God's plan for sexuality to teens in the Boston area, please come and talk to us! If you would like to come, please email your preference between Friday 6:30-8(30) and Sat 3-4:30 (5) to Helen at hrenton@fas.

Why Theology of the Body? Because we don't have bodies, we ARE bodies!!

CENTERING PRAYER WORKSHOP

Come learn how to practice Centering Prayer, a simple contemplative method drawn from Catholic tradition. This started with the Desert Fathers and included mystics like St. John of the Cross, St. Teresa of Avila, and St. Therese of Liseux. Modern Trappist monks created Centering Prayer to help laypeople experience contemplation in the middle of their busy lives, and it allows you to descend beneath your normal thoughts and experience God's simple presence bringing an abiding peace. The workshop will be Tuesday May 13 and Wednesday May 14. Contact Leo Keliher (lkeliher@fas) with questions or for more information.

EUCHARTISTIC ADORATION

Join us for Eucharistic Adoration in the Parish Chapel (by the receptionist's desk) every night from Sunday to Friday, 7:30 PM - 10 PM. Contact Tom Capps (tcapps@fas) to sign up for a weekly slot or for more information.

EARTHEN VESSELS SUMMER CAMP

Earthen Vessels is still in need of counselors for its summer camp. If you like kids, love the outdoors, are ready for fun mixed with challenging work with kids who are growing up in difficult circumstances and for whom camp will be a treasured experience, this might be a great summer adventure for you. If interested, contact Marie-Claude Thompson mcthmpsn@yahoo.com as soon as possible.

VOLUNTEERS NEEDED FOR ST. PAUL'S ESL PROGRAM

We are currently looking for volunteers for English as a Second (or Other) Language on Saturdays from 10:00 - 11:30 AM in the Parish Center. No prior experience is required. We currently have three active volunteers from the undergraduate student population, two graduate students, two young professionals, four active members from the Parish, but there is a great need for more! DONATE YOUR COOP REBATE CHECK TO THE CSA!

The Harvard Cooperative Society (COOP) rebate checks are out and if you don't know what to do with yours, we suggest signing it over to the "Harvard Catholic Student Center. The chaplaincy to the Harvard community is growing but needs funds to do so. This may be a painless way to make a contribution. Please consider it. Your generosity is greatly appreciated.

You can also make a donation by visiting the site for the Harvard Catholic Chaplaincy

WHAT'S YOUR VOCATION?

An interest in a religious vocation is all you need to join a group of other students to explore this possibility in your life. Separate groups will form for men and women. Meetings will be monthly and will focus on reading, discussion and prayer. If you are interested in either discernment group, email Fr. Bill at frbillmurphy@gmail.com.
