Coordinates student volunteer activities with the Parish and local community.
Peace and Social Justice Group
Committed to prayer, education, and action on issues of social justice. Has recently focused on disaster relief and genocide prevention.
Earthen Vessels Tutoring Program
Brings together Harvard students and inner-city children and teenagers in a mentoring relationship.
English as a Second (or Other) Language
Help teach English to adults with diverse cultural and professional backgrounds.
Gospel of Life
Promotes pro-life awareness and activism. Committed to the dignity of all human life, from conception until natural death.
Neighbor to Neighbor Elderly Visitation Program
Matches Harvard students for weekly visits with residents at the Jean Jugan Residence for the Poor in Davis Square.
Teach CCD (Religious Education)
Be on a team to help educate parish children in their faith. Grades 1-6.
Administrative Team
Help keep the CSA well-publicized and well-organized.
Speaker Event Team
Help the CSA welcome interesting speakers from within and outside the Harvard community.
Knights of Columbus
Knights of Columbus Council 14188 (Pope John Paul II) has been formed at Harvard. This is a great way to get involved in community service and social justice activism, to grow in knowledge of your faith, and to enjoy the fellowship of other Harvard men. Graduate students are also welcome.
Social Activites
CSA "Super Tuesdays" Lounge Nights
Every Tuesday night, the Catholic Student Center lounge opens its doors to the entire undergraduate community for fun study breaks.
"Go Team Catholic" Social Planning Team
Organizes fun social activities for members of the Catholic Student Association, from apple picking and movie nights to dances and parties.
Cornerstone (BGLT Support Group)
Cornerstone offers a welcoming support system for those trying to reconcile their sexual identity with their Catholic faith.
Ecumenical Outreach Team
Works to foster dialogue between Harvard Catholics and members of other Christian fellowships and faith groups on campus.
Growing Spiritually
Liturgy Committee (LitCom)
Organizes the liturgy of the Student Mass, choosing hymns and petitions that correspond to the Scripture readings and needs of the community.
CSA Rejoice
Creates a mini-retreat without having to leave campus, featuring student faith talks and praise and worship music. Held every third Thursday of the semester at the Catholic Student Center.
Liturgy of the Hours: Evening Prayer Group
Gathers weekly to chant vespers from the Liturgy of the Hours, a beautiful blend of psalmody, hymns, and petitions.
Rosary Prayer Group
Gathers once a week to pray the Rosary in devotion to Our Blessed Mother. Followed by dinner.
Spanish Rosary Group
Gathers once a week to pray the Rosary in Spanish. Followed by dinner.
Student Choir
Sings each Sunday evening at the Student Mass. The choir is a non-audition group, welcoming all students who wish to contribute to the liturgy through music.
Eucharistic Ministry
Responsible for the distribution of the Sacrament of Holy Communion at the Student Mass.
Student Lectoring Program
Organizes the service of volunteer lectors, who thoughtfully proclaim the Word to the congregation during Student Mass.
Art and Environment Team
Design and prepare decorations for the Lower Church of St. Paul Parish appropriate to the liturgical season and major feast days. Also serve as greeters.
Centering Prayer Group
Discover an ancient method of seeking God through quieting the inner life.
CSA Retreats
We plan three spiritual retreats annually, held at retreat centers off campus. These experiences are fun and rewarding, and we encourage students to join us!
