The Harvard University Flute Ensemble is a student organization dedicated to the performance of works for large groups of flutes. The Ensemble was formed both to supplement the meager performance opportunities offered flutists on the Harvard campus and to provide the campus with a new form of performance art which is gradually gaining currency in the United States and throughout the world. Open to all Harvard flutists, the Ensemble's only requirements for admission are enthusiasm and a love of music. For more information, please call the Offices of the Harvard University Bands at (617) 496-2263, or you can email us at flutes@hcs.harvard.edu

The Harvard University Flute Ensemble is entirely student run. Student leaders choose programs, schedules, and run concerts and rehearsals, arrange for funding, and even create new works for the Ensemble to perform. The staff is all-volunteer and chosen from among the undergraduate student members of the organization by the members of the organization.
