Come one...come all! To the HRC General Board Meetings. Board meetings will take place on the first and third Tuesdays of every month (unless advertised otherwise) at 8 pm. Please come to discuss the current hot political topics and learn about the upcoming club events. If that's not enough-- we have pizza!
Please consider making use of a way to both save money for yourself and raise money for the HRC to support the parties, trips to New Hampshire, and great speaking events you enjoy all year long. Please purchase your course books (or anything else) from Amazon.com through the link on this page, and have 7% of the purchase price donated to the HRC. It's a safe and costless (for you) way to help the HRC, so please use it and tell your friends and family to use it now and throughout the semester. Contact Treasurer Andrew Schlafly if you have any questions (schlafly@fas.harvard.edu).
The HRC will be heavily involved in the 2008 Presidential election in the battleground state of New Hampshire. Starting September 25, we'll be making weekly phone banking trips to Boston to call voters in New Hampshire. Meet at the Harvard T stop at 5pm every Thursday to join in. Also, we're planning campaign bus trips into New Hampshire on September 27, October 11, and November 1. Buses will leave at 9am and return back to campus around 6pm. Don't miss out on these great opportunities to get involved and make a difference in this election! Contact Vice President for Campaigns and Activism Alee Lockman (alockman@fas.harvard.edu) for more information.
The HRC is spearheading a movement to officially recognize ROTC students on Harvard's campus in several different ways. To get involved, contact Alee Lockman (alockman@fas.harvard.edu).
Join the HRC and the Harvard Law School Republicans for a special speaker event on Monday, September 29 at 8pm in Emerson 105 featuring former Massachusetts Governor and U.S. Ambassador to Canada Paul Cellucci. Former Governor Cellucci will be speaking about the 2008 election as well as the future of the Republican Party in Massachusetts. Refreshments will be provided. Contact Vice President for Speakers and Political Discourse Michelle Parilo (mparilo@fas.harvard.edu) for more information.
