Auditions

Auditions for the Harvard Jazz Bands for 2007-2008 season will be held again during Freshmen Orientation Week. Below are the auditions times. Please call the Harvard Band Office (617-496-2263) to set up an audition time

Sunday, September 9 Auditions: 4:30-6:30 PM

Monday, September 10 Auditions: 6:45-7:45 PM

Tuesday, September 11 Auditions: 1-5 PM

Wednesday, September 12 Auditions: 2-6 PM

Thursday, September 13 Auditions: 10 AM-3 PM

Friday, September 14 Auditions: 10 AM-1 PM

Sunday, September 16 Auditions (Wind Ensemble and Jazz Band only): 12-3 PM

Audition requirements consist of the following:

• Major scales, to demonstrate your technical ability, range, and tone quality
• A jazz head out of a fake book
• Improvising with a play-along tape
• Sight reading

Rhythm Section auditions are held in a group setting with a jam session format.
