And the suggestions are in!!

  • "Dear Aunt Millie..."
Our first suggestion is -- ask family and friends for small donations!  While $50 sounds like a lot, $10 is something almost everyone can afford to spare.  Check out our sample letter and try writing some of your own!

  •    Work it, Baby!
If you are the strong, silent, and independent type (and are a Harvard undergraduate or graduate student), the type of a person who does not like to ask for money, there is always work.  Recently, the Equestrian Club has reached an agreement with the Harvard Student Agency.  You may meet
your fundraising requirement by signing up with the HSA and working for them for 5 hours for every semester of riding.  The HSA offers a variety of positions, including tutoring,
transcription, catering, etc.  You choose what type of work
you want to do.
This is the way the system works:  You have to go to the 2nd floor of 67 Mt. Auburn Street, to the Resources desk (right next to the water fountain).  You have to bring a valid Harvard ID and a driver's license or a
passport.
When you fill out the Job Specification Sheet, remember to write "Pay to Equestrian Club" in the name rubric and put your name in parenthesis.  A hint: Catering
positions offer 4 to 5-hour, single day commitments -- and you get food and tips.  You may even find yourself going back to HSA and working for the benefit of your own
checkbook!
