What YOU Can Do in the Pool Theatre!

The Pool Theatre is a great place to do performances of any kind. Whether it's a play, a musical, a comedy routine, a dance, a discussion, an art exhibit - it's up to you!

The Pool is also equipped with a movie projector and screen, which are connected to both a DVD player and laptop-connectable cables. Screen movies! Soon we will also be able to watch TV there.

One-night events like movie screenings or comedy shows only require a reservation. To reserve the Pool Theatre, email (pooltheatre@gmail).

Plays, Musicals and Residencies

Larger projects like plays and musicals, which will receive week-long residencies in the Pool, require applications.

Applications to direct in the Pool Theatre are accepted on a rolling basis, but teams are encouraged to become aware of UC and OFA Grant Deadlines, since Adams does not provide funding for projects in the Pool.

Please download and fill out the application using the links below. You must complete BOTH the application and the budget template. Email both to (pooltheatre@gmail).

Information For Producers

Producers must bring a cash box form to C-16 by midnight after each performance. A separate cash box form is required for each performance, so a two-show day will have two cash box forms.

There is also a ton of useful information online at the website of the Office for the Arts. Click here for the OFA's Theatre Resources page.

Floor Plans of the Pool Theatre

Somewhat rough but useful floor plans of the Pool are available in GIF and PDF format.

Hey Adams! I grew up in Nanuet NY, a small town 19 miles northwest of New York City. I was Adams '05 - living in C44, B32 and B12 - and graduated from the Literature Department with a focus on French-speaking literatures, notoriously writing my thesis on Jackson Browne and T.S. Eliot. Since graduation, I've been keeping busy writing music and lyrics for musical theatre (at work on my sixth show now), and I've been lucky enough to have had some work published and performed across the country. I've also done plenty of music directing, including for the Hasty Pudding (stories abound), Camp Broadway's National Tour (stories abound), and the Boston Children's Theatre (stories, not so much). I lead a co-curricular seminar right here in Adams called "How Songs Work" which is open to everyone, even if you only want to drop by for a bit. So drop by - anytime. The door to C-16 is usually wide open, and favorite topics of discussion include Moliere, the worthiness of bringing non-traditional figures into the academic spotlight, putting the B in BGLT, chocolates, living your dream, vespa scooters, and whatever's on your mind. I can also be a great resource for questions on working professionally in any aspect of the arts - if I haven't done it myself, I know someone well who has! So in the words of Three's Company, come and knock on my door. There will likely be Entenmann's.

I was born to a Mozambican dad and a Danish mom in Miami but grew up mostly in Africa, Europe and Australia. At age 16 I left home to work in fashion but soon missed academia and decided to pursue a degree in Tibetan and Himalayan studies in Paris. Having fallen in love with the City of Light, I stayed on to study Sinology and Art History/Archeology. It was also in a Parisian museum where I met my husband Chunbai... After spending a year in Beijing brushing up on my Chinese and planning my wedding in Shanghai, I came to Harvard to pursue a PhD in Archaeology in 2006. Prior to coming to Cambridge, I spent time working at museums like the Met and the Louvre and spent inordinate amounts of time bumming around the French and Chinese countryside doing archaeological fieldwork. In my spare time, I love screening silent films in the Pool and cooking up wonders with the Adams House Culinary Club which I coordinate with Sherry. If you don't have enough drama in your life already and are planning a production, come chat to me about ideas, tech or using the Pool. Feel free to drop by I-12, where I live with my husband Chunbai (a resident tutor in Medicine), to talk to us about anything from study/living abroad, pre-med, picking a concentration, graduate school, all matters Chinese, drama, or just to speak a different language.
