On Wednesday at our first comp session, Evan Ortiz mentioned a fundamental of advertising: to get people to buy your product you have to get your name out there. But in this day and age, where everyone’s attention is diverted by a million different flashing lights, you have to put yourself out there in a big way. Here’s where guerrilla marketing comes in. Shock and awe appears to have the most lasting claim to people’s attention. Whether it’s a flashmob or sending media outlets a giant joint, giving people something to tweet about is one of the best ways to get your name out there. First Comp Session is TONIGHT!
Amazing vintage ad campaign
Now this is what we call an amazing ad campaign — “As of yesterday, and every weekend through the end of the month, patrons of the 2/3 express line in Manhattan will be able to step into an authentic vintage subway train from the 1920′s, as part of a large-scale promotion for the new season of Boardwalk Empire, HBO’s series set in Prohibition-era Atlantic City.” Check out that authentic vintage typography, those nicely textured vintage seats! A time-traveling machine of an ad campaign. We approve. [source: Flavorwire ]
