March 7th, 2008 Movie night 7:30 PM in Emerson 305. We watched the 1980s classic Airplane!
April 19th, 2008 Airplane rides from Hanscom Field
Details:
The Harvard College Aviation Club provided 20-25 minute flights in small, four-seat aircraft on April 19th, 2008. All flights departed between 12 p.m. and 5 p.m. from Hanscom Airport, in Bedford (easily accessible via public transportation). The cost was approximately $15-20 per flight which covered the expenses of renting airplanes. All pilots working in coordination with the Harvard College Aviation Club did not benefit monetarily from the flights whatsoever; they also helped cover the costs of renting.
You would have enjoyed this event if:
1) You would like to experience what a flight in a four-seat airplane is like.
2) You like roller coasters, but find that Six Flags is too far away to commute! (Don't worry, we only do maneuvers all passengers are comfortable with!)
3) You'd like to sit at the controls of an airplane and do some simple maneuvers under the guidance of certified pilots (straight and level flight, climbs, descents, shallow turns... [1/3 of all passengers had the chance to sit in the front.)
If the aforementioned activities sound exciting to you, don't miss out on our upcoming events! Pilots and non-pilots alike are invited!!
