Audition for BachSoc

Auditions 2011-12

Auditions this year will be held at the following times and places:

• Wednesday 8/31: 8-10pm, Lowell Lecture Hall B14
• Thursday 9/1: 7-10pm, Lowell Lecture Hall B14
• Friday 9/2: 8-10pm, Lowell Lecture Hall B14
• Saturday 9/3: 8:30am-2pm, Memorial Hall Basement Room 029

Please sign up for an audition time using the online sign-up tool, and plan on arriving at least 10 minutes before your audition time. If desired, a warm-up room will be available starting 10 minutes before your audition time.

Directions to the audition rooms:

• For Lowell Lecture Hall B14: Note that auditions will be held in Lowell Lecture Hall, NOT Lowell House. Lowell Lecture Hall is to the north of Annenberg, directly across the street from the Science Center. Once inside, go down the stairs and turn left.
• For Mem Hall Room 029: Memorial Hall is the building which contains Annenberg and Sanders Theatre. Go down the stairs located on the exterior of the building, immediately adjacent to the entrance to Annenberg. Once inside, keep going straight until you reach room 029.

The Audition Process

Our super-relaxed auditions include only 5 to 7 minutes of playing total in front of our Music Director, our General Managers, and perhaps the principal player from your section. Please prepare two contrasting selections from your instrument's standard repertoire.

We will also offer mid-year auditions during January reading period. To sign up for an audition time, please send us an email (bachsoc@hcs.harvard.edu) with your name, instrument, and general availability.
