Seminar Topic
Clinical Ethics: New Issues on the Wards
This seminar will involve two case studies. The first is a case involving parents' request to have surgery on their profoundly handicapped "pillow angel" daughter to remove her uterus and breast buds and give medications to attenuate growth of secondary sexual development. The second involves a woman who sought infertility treatment to have a pregnancy in which the embryo she would carry would consist of a donor egg inseminated with her father's sperm so that she could have a child with familial genes.
