2007-08-26 A message from your High School Mentor Chair, Jon Steinman:

Hi All,

I hope your summer is coming to an enjoyable (and not too early) close. I'm writing to extend an invitation to all of you who haven't yet volunteered to consider tutoring chemistry during the coming school year to high school students at Cambridge Rindge and Latin School. Tutoring gives you the opportunity to share your knowledge about chemistry with all levels of high school students. In addition to the reward of seeing the next generation of students grasp the concepts you love (or at least don't hate--as evidenced by your belonging to this list) you'll solidify your understanding of general chemistry, which could prove valuable as you look toward taking any standardized tests for grad school.

The commitment for prospective tutors will be between 1.5 and 3 hours at the same time every week. You will be able to work with students at any level: from those struggling with basic concepts to the strongest AP chemistry students who need extra challenges.

If you are interested, please send me an e-mail and stay tuned for an announcement of a an orientation meeting for all of those interested in tutoring at a time and place to be determined.

Thanks,

Jonathan Steinman
