Harvard Dudley Dragon Boat Team

Harvard Dudley paddling through a race

The Harvard Dudley Dragon Boat Team is a group of students, staff, and faculty from Harvard and its affiliates, who participate in the sport of dragon boating. We have competed throughout the Northeast and internationally, and the 2007 season brought us several victories! We welcome all levels of skill and interest in the 2008 season.

Newsflash: Come check us out at Septemberfest, Wednesday September 10th, from 1-5PM in front of Dudley House! We are planning trips to Philadelphia (October 4-5) and Lissamol, Cyprus (October 18-19). These trips are open to anyone eligible to join the team; you need only to attend practices in the weeks leading to the races.

Are you curious to know more? We have two mailing lists this year! Join the announcements mailing list for important team news and practice notifications; you can also join dragonboat-open which is the place for questions to the group, planning social activities, sharing news about the sport, etc.

We hold voluntary practices on the Charles River three times a week: Mondays and Wednesdays at 6 PM, and Saturdays at 11 AM. Boats leave promptly, so be early! No matter your experience level, just come to our regular practices, and we'll get your started. You may wish to contact the HDDBC officers (below) to let someone know you're coming, in the rare event of a cancellation.

For the 2008 season, team members who are not GSAS students are asked to contribute $20 for the year's expenses. You do not need to pay this immediately; we're happy to let you try a practice or two to see if you like it first. Please see joining us for more information on this change, and other costs involved in participating.

Write to us at HDDBC.officers { a t } gmail.com for more information.
