The Environmental Action Committee aims to promote sustainability and environmental practices in order to benefit the Harvard, Cambridge, and global communities. We promote environmentalism through educational outreach, campaigns about food, events, as well as our environmental art publication, The Canopy.
In 1962, the Environmental Action Committee was born within PBHA, from students who cared about sustainability and environmental justice. For many decades, students in EAC lead the push for administration to adopt sustainable practices. In _____, we piloted the first Ecolympics, now know as the Green Cup. In _____, we met with administrators and convinced them to adopt a ______ reduction in emissions by _____. While the University was in the early planning stages of the Allston campus, we met with administrators to adopt sustainable principles, as well as consider and protect the communities of Allston. Since ____, we’ve held an annual Earth Day Fair to celebrate environmentalism in the Harvard community and beyond. While the environmental community at Harvard has grown, we have kept some of our traditions, such as Veguary and the Enviro Ed lessons, as well as adopted new projects like our environmental art publication.
