- President Bush, in his weekly radio address on Saturday.

I. PREFROSH WEEKEND! - As if time didn't pass quickly enough already, this weekend we will be welcoming prospective Republican members of the Class of 2009 to Harvard during prefrosh weekend. The following is our schedule of events - Please come to the ice cream bash and debate to show the prefrosh that conservatism is alive and well on campus! Wear your HRC T-shirt! We want to increase Harvard's yield of Republican students.

Thursday, Friday, Saturday, 8 AM, John Harvard's Statue - Postering!  One of the most important things we'll do this weekend is put up posters welcoming Republican prefrosh and advertising our events this weekend. Meet at 8 at the John Harvard statue to help us - we need as many of you as possible! Email Meghan (mgrizzle@fas) to volunteer.

Saturday, 1 PM, Harvard Hall 102 - Ice Cream Bash!  Come talk to prospective Republican students about HRC and Harvard in general and help convince them to come! Partially-gelatinated dairy-like sweets will be provided.

Saturday, 2 PM, Harvard Hall 201 - Debate with the Dems!  We will be debating the Harvard Democrats on the topic of "The Bush Doctrine" to a super-full crowd of prefrosh, and we want a friendly audience! Stop by to cheer on our debaters. (Those interested in debating should contact CR - sincock@fas)

Saturday, 3-5 PM, Science Center (ground floor) - Prefrosh Activities Fair!  HRC will have our all-important table at the activities fair immediately following the debate, and we want to have lots of people there for a show of force! This is how we develop our membership lists and it is crucial. Email Meghan (mgrizzle@fas) if you're willing to help at our table, ESPECIALLY if you're willing to skip the debate to get there EARLY.

II. HRC "Immigration Policy" Study Break - Wed! - HRC will host another study break this Wednesday at 9 PM in the Eliot JCR, for a discussion on immigration policy. The study break is organized by RSEP and the Policy Committee, who as usual will provide Finale dessert. Questions, email CR (sincock@fas) or Mark (shepard@fas).

III. HPU Elections - Wednesday (related deadlines Mon., Tues.) - Elections for the Institute of Politics are taking place over the course of a week starting Wednesday with HPU. Declarations of candidacy are due TOMORROW (Monday) by 5 PM (email iop@hcs.harvard.edu with your name, class, desired committee and 1-2 paragraph statement). If you are an eligible voter you will receive a confirmation email tomorrow; absentee ballot requests (hard to get approved) must be made by Tuesday at 5 PM at http://www.iop.harvard.edu/students_elections.html. IV. Sen. Chuck Hagel at the IOP - Today! - U.S. Senator Chuck Hagel (R-NE) will deliver an address at the IOP at 4 today (Monday). Sen. Hagel has served in the senate since 1996, is on the IOP advisory board and is considered by some to be a potential contender for the White House in 2008.

V. Crisis Pregnancy Fundraiser Dinner - Wed.! - Come to the "Culture Shock Benefit Dinner" this Wednesday from 6 to 9 in Pound Hall, Ropes-Gray Room, HLS. The dinner is all-you-can-eat buffet from multiple restaurants. VI. HPU Thursday - "Free Speech and Censorship" - HPU's topic of the week is "Free Speech and Censorship" - is there any limit on free speech? Can a protest go so far as to impede the speech of others?  Should the media be restricted from broadcasting content that would threaten national security?  Where does the Internet fit into this picture? Come debate your fellow students at 6:00 on Thursday in the IOP First Floor Conference Room. Contact Vivek (ramasw@fas) with questions.

VII. "Reflections on Raymond Aron" - Thursday - This Thursday from 4:15 to 6 in the Lower Level Conference Room of the Center for European Studies, Prof. Stanley Hoffmann will deliver a special lecture on the French anti-Communist Raymond Aron.
