I. HRC Poker Night and Cookout - Saturday - Join your fellow Republicans this Saturday, April 29, for a night of burgers, hot dogs, and poker! Following a cookout in Quincy courtyard, we will have a No-Limit Texas Hold-'Em Tournament with over $200 in cash and prizes. The cost for the entire event is $10, with an optional one-time $5 re-buy. Contact John (souther@fas) to reserve your spot today!

II. HRC Softball Game vs. The Crimson - Friday - HRC will be forming a softball team to play a game against The Crimson this Friday, and this is your chance to join the action and crush The Crimson! Players of all levels and abilities are welcome, and feel free to recruit your ball-player jock friends as well! The game will take place this Friday, April 28, at 3pm, location TBA. E-mail Ted (tskowron@fas) with your name, house, year, preferred e-mail address, and glove hand (if you need a glove) as soon as possible if you're interested in playing for HRC.

III. RSEP with Ben Shapiro - Wednesday - Join us at this week's RSEP study break with special guest Ben Shapiro, an outspoken Harvard Law School student who, at age 17, became the youngest nationally syndicated columnist in the country and has since authored two conservative bestsellers: Brainwashed and Porn Generation. The event will take place on Wednesday at 9pm, location TBA. As always, Finale desserts will be served. Questions? Contact Mark (mshepard@fas).

IV. Join the Conservative Book Club! - Throughout April, the conservative book club will be reading Manliness by Harvard's own Harvey Mansfield. It's not too late to join! We are also in the process of planning a catered dinner discussion with Professor Mansfield himself. E-mail Ryan (rmccaffr@fas) to join, and purchase your copy of Manliness from Ryan or on the Book Club's website: http://hcs.harvard.edu/~gop/cons_book_club.html.

V. Next General Board Meeting - May 3 - The next HRC general board meeting will take place on Wednesday, May 3, at 10pm in the Leverett JCR. Feel free to come even if you're not on the general board. Questions? Contact Stephen (sdewey@fas).

VI. Habitat Bike Challenge - HRC board member Matt Schrimpf will be representing Harvard and the HRC this summer in the Habitat Bike Challenge, riding 4,000 miles across the country to raise money and awareness for Habitat for Humanity. His goal is to raise a dollar for each mile of the ride. All donations will help to eliminate poverty housing and are greatly appreciated! E-mail Matt at schrimpf@fas.harvard.edu for more information, or donate online at http://www.yale.edu/habitat/donate.html.

VII. Job Opportunities in Governor Romney's Office - The Office of the Governor has several full-time paid entry-level employment opportunities, including a Constituent Services Aide and Correspondence Aide, for current college seniors interested in serving in the Administration. To apply, send a resume and cover letter to David DeSousa, Director of Human Resources for the Office of the Governor, at David.J.Desousa@state.ma.us. Questions should also be directed to this address.

VIII. Buy a T-Shirt - You can buy an HRC T-shirt for $10 by emailing Mark Shepard at mshepard@fas.harvard.edu to arrange for payment and shipping/pickup.

IX. Pay Dues - If you haven't paid your $5 dues for the year yet, you can do so by mailing it with your name and email address to Jeffrey Kwong, 1774 Harvard Yard Mail Center, Cambridge, MA 02138. Paying dues gets you a membership card, priority in our events, and other benefits.
