Hello, fellow Republicans! HRC has a number of exciting events happening this week that you won't want to miss:

I. General Board Meeting and Phone Banking for Schwarzenegger - Wednesday - Join your fellow Harvard Republicans to phone bank for Arnold Schwarzenegger this Wednesday at 9 PM in the Leverett JCR, and then stay for our general board meeting at 10 PM in Leverett JCR. Be sure to bring your cell phones! Pizza will be provided at 9 PM, so come early! All are welcome! Questions? Contact John (souther@fas).

II. Mike Gerson Breakfast - Wednesday - Join your fellow HRC members for breakfast with former Bush speechwriter Mike Gerson this Wednesday at 8:45 AM at the IOP. We have 2 spots left, so e-mail John (souther@fas) ASAP if you want one!

III. Phone Banking for Healey - Saturday - Help keep a Republican in the Massachusetts Governor's Office! Meet at 1:30 PM this Saturday at the Harvard Square T stop by ABP. We'll be phone banking from 2-5, and then we'll be having dinner in the North End and FREE dessert at Mike's Pastries. Contact Caleb (weatherl@fas) to RSVP or with questions.

IV. Campaign for Kerry Healey - October 28 - HRC will join College Republicans from across the state on a Saturday trip to Cape Cod to campaign for Massachusetts Republican gubernatorial candidate and Harvard graduate Kerry Healey, as well as a local state house race. V. Gay Marriage Debate - Thursday - This Thursday, representatives from the Harvard Salient and CSA's Gospel of Life will take on the BGLTSA in a debate over gay marriage for the third in a series of biweekly policy debates organized by the Campus Political Society. The event will take place at 8 PM this Thursday in Harvard Hall 202. Contact Daren (stanaway@fas) with questions.

VI. Christina Martin Study Group - Thursday - Join Christina Martin, former Press Secretary to Newt Gingrich and former member of President George H.W. Bush's administration, for her study group this week at the IOP! The study group will meet weekly on Thursdays from 4-5:30 PM in IOP room L-166. VII. RNC vs. DNC Debate - October 23 - At 6 PM next Monday, October 23, Ed Gillespie (RNC Chairman, 2003-2005) will take on Terry McAuliffe (DNC Chairman, 2001-2005) in a debate about what's at stake in the upcoming 2006 elections. The debate will take place in the IOP Forum.

VIII. Pay Dues - To become a dues-paid member of the Harvard Republican Club, send a check for $5 made out to "Harvard Republican Club" via University Mail to Jeffrey Kwong, Winthrop Mail Center 264. Be sure to include your name and e-mail address in the envelope. Paying dues gets you a membership card, priority in our events, the right to vote in our elections, and other benefits.
