I. Lincoln Day Dinner 2007 - Don't miss the Harvard Republican Club's fifth annual Lincoln Day Dinner on February 22, 2006 at 6:00 PM in Eliot House Dining Hall. The key note address will be given by Star Parker. Ms. Parker, a regular commentator on CNN, MSNBC, and Fox News, is the founder of CURE, a non-profit think tank that provides a national voice of reason on issues of race and poverty in inner-city neighborhoods. III. HRC Habitat for Humanity - the Republican Club has been confirmed for a habitat build day on Saturday, March 10. We are now looking to put together a team of about 10 volunteers to work on a house in Lawrence, MA that is being built by the Merrimack Valley Habitat for Humanity affiliate. The Harvard Habitat board will be providing free
transportation to and from the work site, and all together the day should last
from about 8:00 am to 4:30pm. If you are able to participate, please email your name and cell phone number to either Carolyn Puente at ctpuente@fas.harvard.edu or Dara Johnson at ojohnson@fas.harvard.edu as soon as possible. Also, feel free to email with any questions or concerns you may have about the trip. We look forward to hearing from you!

IV. Republican IOP Fellows - Republicans Kerry Healey, Nancy Johnson, and Chriss Winston are among this semester's class of fellows at the IOP. Mrs. Healey's "Beyond Rhetoric of Reform: How to Turn Good Intentions into Effective Public Policy" study group takes place on Mondays from 4:00 - 5:30. Mrs. Johnson's study group, "Health Care Reform," takes place on Tuesdays from 4:00 - 5:30; for more information, contact Brian Bolduc at bolduc@fas.harvard.edu. V. Write for the Salient! - Interested in contributing your opinions to the campus conversation so often dominated by the Left? The Harvard Salient, the college's most pretigious journal of political opinion, continuously solicits submissions for articles, editorials, and art. There are also ample opportunities in the Salient Business Office, for those more interested in the financial aspect of conservative activism. VI. Buy a T-Shirt - You can buy an HRC T-shirt for $10 by emailing Treasurer Mark Shepard, at mshepard@fas.harvard.edu to arrange for payment and shipping/pickup.

 

VII. Pay Dues - If you haven't paid your $5 dues for the year yet, you can do so by mailing it with your name and email address to Membership and Publicity Director Christopher Higgins, 1626 Harvard Yard Mail Center, or email him at chiggins@fas.harvard.edu.  Be sure to include your name and e-mail address in the envelope.  Paying dues gets you a membership card, priority in our events, and an endless array of sundry benefits.
