Questionnaire
The Harvard GSAS Graduate Student Council has put together a questionnaire for the delegations of each school to fill out and return. The data that we collect before the Ivy Summit each year is an invaluable resource in understanding the situation of graduate students at our peer institutions. This information provides valuable insight into how we might more effectively advocate on our own student body's behalf. Thanks to Brown University for preparing last year's survey, upon which this survey was based.
Please fill this survey out carefully. Please share it with deans and administrators if you need additional information to complete certain questions. After we recieve your responses, we will compile this information into a usable format and distribute it with your Ivy Summit registration materials.
Please return your completed questionnaire to Kyle Brown by Wednesday, October 1st, 2008. Please make every effort to complete this survey by October 1st so that we might have the maximum amount of time to compile the results.
Please pay special attention to two questions on the survey. You may send the answers to these questions in advance, ahead of the full completed questionnaire.
First, please let us know what specific issues your group would like discussed at the Ivy Summit. You may want to include administrators and student life programmers/fellows in this discussion.
Second, beyond the broad overview of each group's progress over the past year presented during the "State of the Nine", we would like to lead each breakout session with a short presentation about a program or initiative from a particular school that has been successful or deserves attention. Think about a particular program (or two) that your school might like to highlight. It can be an advocacy program, an event you organize every year, a student life program or anything else you think other student leaders would benefit from hearing about. We hope these short 10 minute presentations will help to frame discussions and provide exemplars of student governance.
