HEPS Annual Fall Kick-Off Event @ The Queen’s Head Pub, Thursday September 13th

The Queen’s Head is finally open and ready for our weekly visits to begin! HEPS meets every Thursday during the semester at the Queen’s Head Pub under Annenberg Hall for a social mixer and to enjoy the company of other pre-health students. Our first event will include an MCAT course raffle, free giveaways, HEPS themed Mardi Gras beads, and a fun time with students from every course! Stop by the QH and meet your new classmates for the 2012-2013 school year.

Where: The Queen’s Head Pub 45 Quincy Street, Cambridge, MA 02138
When: Thursday September 13 @ 9:30 PM after classes
Why: To get the semester started right!

Save a Child’s Heart Social and Call for Volunteers

The organization Save a Child’s Heart gives life saving surgeries to children with congenital heart diseases as well as provides training for doctors in those countries. There are SACH chapters worldwide and the Boston chapter has education and fun events throughout the year. Currently, SACH is searching for volunteers for the positions listed below. SACH will also be sponsoring a social happy hour tomorrow September 11, 2012 for those interested in volunteering or participainting. Please contact livnatblum@gmail.com for more information about volunteering for Save a Child’s Heart.

Volunteer Opportunities (~4-6 hrs/ month):

Marketing Volunteer: Volunteers will assist SACH with branding and creating uniform messaging via designing flyers, posters and other outreach materials. Volunteers could also assist with social media marketing (facebook, linkedin, twiteer).
Outreach Volunteer: Volunteers will help SACH outreach to campuses, hospitals, and community centers for speaking and networking programs. Outreach volunteers could also help event programming to recruit donations and sponsorships for fundraising events.
Event Programming Volunteer: Volunteers will come up with creative ideas for fundraising events and help implement them. We have approx. 4 fundraising events annually and looking for operational programming support.
