Intercollegiate Model United Nations (ICMUN)

The Harvard Intercollegiate Model UN team (ICMUN) is the school-sponsored traveling branch of the Harvard IRC that debates at Model UN conferences across North America. Past destinations have included New York City, Montreal, Chicago, Philadelphia, and Washington, D.C.

Within the IRC, ICMUN offers the unique opportunity to travel, compete, and learn, all the while enjoying the host city and social events during the evenings. As ambassadors from Harvard on the college Model UN circuit, our group has built solid bonds of friendship with other teams, relationships that go well beyond the committee room.

The college Model UN circuit is characterized by a great variety of committees and dynamics. ICMUN delegates, through these four-day conferences, debate real world issues and draft resolutions that seek to resolve them. But there is more to collegiate Model UN than your traditional General Assembly or Security Council. If you want to become a pirate and sail the coasts of 18th century China, lead your Roman troops against hordes of blood-thirsty barbarians, or rewrite history as a Cabinet member during World War II, then apply to join the team!
