HIS Library

The HIS Library, located in the Canaday Musalla, is ever growing as HIS continues to procure books through the generous donations made by past and present members of the community. Presently, the library also features many different translations of the Qur’an. It includes a number of hadith collections (Bukhari, Muslim, Malik’s Muwwata, al-Nawawi’s Forty, etc.), books on the sirah (biography of the Prophet, peace upon him), and books on learning Arabic. There are also some works of fiqh (Islamic jurisprudence), including the Reliance of the Traveler and al-Nawawi’s Maqasid. If you would like to contribute to the expansion of the HIS Library, please see our “wish list” on Amazon: HIS Wish List If you would like to check out a particular library book, please email the HIS secretary at hbeg@fas.harvard.edu.
