Secretary: Harris Beg ‘12 Salaam! I’m Haaris Beg, the Secretary for HIS. I grew up in Queens, NY, lived most of my life in Long Island, NY, and now live in Crown Point, IN (for the past several months). I am a sophomore living in Eliot House (it’s the best one.) I don’t know what my concentration is yet, it could be anything from Neurobiology to History of Science, but I know that I am pre-med. Treasurer: Alexa Rahman ‘12 Salaams! My name is Alexa Rahman and I am the Treasurer of HIS. I grew up in Weston, Massachusetts and am a sophomore in Quincy House. I plan to declare my concentration in either government or history with secondary fields in economics and Arabic. Outside of class I work at the Harvard Foundation for Intercultural and Race Relations, serve as Philanthropic Director for Harvard University Women in Business, and enjoy walking around Cambridge and spontaneous trips to Berryline. Director of Internal Relations: Efi Akam ‘12 Asalaamu alaikum! My name is Eftitan Akam (better known as Efi) and I am a sophomore in Quincy House. I’m Sudanese, born in Saudi Arabia and raised there and in Philadlephia. My family currently lives in Yuma, AZ. I’m a premed planning on doing a joint concentration in Near Eastern Languages and Civilizations and History and Science.
