Dear Alumni and Friends,
HRG&SP has come a long way since its first official production of Ruddigore in 1956. While the canon has remained the same and our illustrious venue constant, much has changed in fifty years. From our humble beginnings, we have emerged as one of the pre-eminent theatre organizations on campus, consistently attracting the best talent and putting on highly professional productions. To meet these lofty expectations, we have come to rely on the annual donations of our patrons to support our productions. This year, we have a unique opportunity to ensure HRG&SP's future, but we need your help!
In honor of our 50th Anniversary, we are establishing an endowment that will allow HRG&SP to continue producing high quality Gilbert and Sullivan productions at Harvard for generations to come. We seek to ensure the organization's long-term financial security and generate necessary annual income. With this new revenue, we aim to increase our production budgets, expand our growing music library, and purchase new orchestra equipment. Additionally, the income generated by the endowment will help us expand our programs to include focusing on community service and outreach and perhaps traveling to the International Gilbert and Sullivan Festival in England.
With the 50th Anniversary Celebration quickly approaching, we hope you will consider donating to the HRG&SP Endowment. This is a wonderful occasion to benefit hundreds of current and future Harvard undergraduates and to continue the rich legacy of Gilbert and Sullivan at Harvard. It is also a great way to give back to the organization that, for many of you, was a central part of your college experience. Please give generously!
The easiest way to donate is through the enclosed Event Reservation Form. Our goal is to engage as many alumni as possible in our fundraising efforts, so please make a dona- tion even if you cannot join us and encourage your former HRG&SP classmates to do the same. You will not receive Harvard class credit for your gift, but donations are tax-deductible. Help us make history with this unique fundraising opportunity, and help us ensure our future for another fifty years!
Thank you in advance for your generosity!
