There are many opportunities to be a part of the Harvard-Radcliffe Gilbert and Sullivan Players. Whether you are an undergraduate interested in acting, a grad student who plays in orchestras, or a member of the community who enjoys watching good theater, there are ways in which you can participate in our semi-annual productions.

Ways to Get Involved

Cast Cast: Each of our shows has a cast of about twenty-five actors. All roles are singing roles—after all, it is operetta! Undergraduates (from both Harvard and area universities) and recent graduates usually make up our casts.

Staff Staff: It takes almost a hundred people to put up an HRG&SP show. We welcome anyone who wants to get involved. In almost all cases, no previous experience is required. Being on staff for HRG&SP is a great chance to learn about technical theater while working with experienced techies.

Orchestra Orchestra: The HRG&SP Orchestra is the largest organized regular pit orchestra on campus, comprised mainly of undergraduate musicians, but welcoming graduate students, staff, officers, and alumni of the University. Many of our members play for HRG&SP for several years in a row.

Board Board of Directors: The Board of Directors exists to preserve continuity between shows, and is composed exclusively of Harvard -Radcliffe undergraduates. We are responsible for keeping HRG&SP running from year to year.

Patrons Patrons: HRG&SP could not survive without our patrons. Patrons watch our shows year after year, and graciously give us their financial support. (Okay, so maybe Larry isn't a patron, but we did sing for his birthday party once.)
