There are five types of races:

Criteriums (Crit) are short circuits of no more than 2 miles that test your technical abilities with corners and small hills.
Circuit Races (CT) are a short circuit of 2-6 miles.
Road Races are longer circuits of more than 7 miles.
Team Time Trials (TTT) where your team races against the clock.
Hill Climb Time Trials (HCTT) are where you race individually against the clock and up the hill.
