Racing is exciting, fast, and exhilarating!
(and a great excuse to buy a new bike...)



There are many opportunities for all skill levels, beginner to advanced. There are now five categories in the men’s fields and three categories in the women’s fields. Beginners are strongly encouraged to try racing.

Getting to the races
For races that are close (NH, UCONN etc.) we travel there the day of the race. For races that are farther away, we usually leave Friday night and come back Sunday evening.

Descriptions of the races
Race flyers for the individual events can be found just prior to an event at the ECCC website.

There are five types of races:

• Criteriums (Crit) are short circuits of no more than 2 miles that test your technical abilities with corners and small hills.
• Circuit Races (CT) are a short circuit of 2-6 miles.
• Road Races are longer circuits of more than 7 miles.
• Team Time Trials (TTT) where your team races against the clock.
• Hill Climb Time Trials (HCTT) are where you race individually against the clock and up the hill.
