IGP’s alums are, by and large, an awesome bunch. So awesome that when they, say, direct a critically acclaimed comedy from producer Judd Apatow starring Jason Segel, Kristen Bell, Mila Kunis, and Russell Brand that’s totally coming out on DVD and Blu-Ray next week and is definitely worth purchasing, they don’t forget their IGP roots. Until today, I sort of just assumed that was the case. But now, I know for sure, as Kevin and I had the opportunity to interview Nick Stoller ‘98, IGP alum and director of Forgetting Sarah Marshall. Check out our newly rechristened Multimedia page for the exclusive interview.

Also, have you ever found yourself thinking, “This run of mine that lasts exactly 3 minutes and 52 seconds is lots of fun, but it would be even more awesome if it was accompanied by a rap song by an improv troupe”? Of course you have! And now IGP has the solution to your problem, as the Multimedia page now features a link for you to download an mp3 of our genre-smashing hip-hop classic “Immediate Gratification”, all ready for transfer to your iPod, Zune, or wherever else you might like to keep it. I’m thinking your heart might be a good place. It’s just a suggestion, of course.

I’d just like to draw everybody’s attention to the big update on the videos page: the music video for IGP’s rap song, “Immediate Gratification.” We’ve also reshuffled a few things on the bios and alums page, as some of our members have recently made the transition to alums.

IGP’s first show of 2008-2009 will be this Friday at 7pm in the Fong Auditorium in Boylston Hall. Boylston is in Harvard Yard and can be found here. We invite the class of 2012 as well as all of our old friends to join us as we kick off fall 2008 with some awesome free improv comedy!

February 25th, 2008

We love Harvard’s juniors; especially Carlton Forbes. Even though he is away in China, we will be performing a show in his honor during JPW. So, if you are a junior, bring those parental units along for a fun-lovin’, chuckling good time. If you happen to not be a junior, you shouldn’t even be thinking twice about what you will be doing at 7pm on the 8th.

March 8th, 7pm
Fong Auditorium, Boylston Hall
As always, FREE!

love,
igp

We’ve just added it to our movie page. Enjoy our exclusive coming attraction for IGP: The Enchanted Forest (more details in the post below).

February 12th, 2008

FREE!!! 2/22 and 2/23 at 7pm and 9pm
Loeb Experiemental Theater on Brattle Street (not sure where it is? Try here)

with special guest improv troupes: Dartmouth’s Dog Day Players, Columbia’s Fruit Paunch, Wesleyan’s New Teen Force, and more!

It’s festival time again for IGP!
Come one, come all to IGP’s tenth annual festival, held on February 22 and 23 at, as always, the Loeb Experimental Theater. Because space is limited in the theater, the shows will be ticketed. Get your FREE tickets at the Loeb Box Office, email us at igp.show@gmail.com to reserve, or show up at the door! But fear not - the show is still very much FREE, except for the price of the paper the tickets are printed on. Well, you won’t be paying for that, so it’s still free. I would figure that out, but I’m afraid the IGP accounting department recently fell into a fiscal black hole.

Why come? To laugh, to love, to live again in the Enchanted Forest. Or maybe just to laugh. I like laughter; laughter is good.

This year, our theme is The Enchanted Forest, which will chiefly be seen in our upcoming FESTIVAL TRAILER, to be released late this week.
