Welcome to the Harvard Organ Society!

The Harvard Organ Society consists of a diverse group of undergraduate and graduate students with an interest in the organ. Some members actively study the organ at Harvard, while many others simply enjoy hearing "the king of instruments". We welcome all those who love the organ and its music!

The HOS regularly invites world-famous concert organists to hold masterclasses on a variety of topics such as improvisation, service-playing, and early organ repertoire. Previous guests include Olivier Latry, Madame Marie-Louis Langlais, and Nathan Laube. In addtion, the HOS organizes visits to organs throughout the Boston area and New England. Highlight trips include the Fisk organ workshop in Gloucester, MA, and a two-week study trip to Montreal, Paris, and Amsterdam in 2014.

The Organ Society also hosts a weekly lunchtime recital series on Thursdays at 12:15 pm in Adolphus Busch Hall and a biweekly concert series in Memorial Church on Tuesday evenings at 7:30 pm during the university’s semester, and its members can often be heard as a part of these series.
