Remember that these are the methods of contraception available at UHS and are not the only valid forms of contraception. Barrier methods of contraception provide a physical barrier between body fluids to prevent pregnancy and STI's.

• Condom
• Female (Receptive) Condom
• Diaphragm
• Other commercial contraceptives (foam, inserts, film)

Chemical methods of contraception use natural hormones to regulate a woman's menstrual cycle and prevent pregnancy.

• Birth control pills

• Depo-Provera
• Emergency contraception
