About Pfohome

Dear Pforzheimer House Students:

Over the months of April and May, a number of important events will take place to guarantee your housing for the next academic year. The Housing Committee and I will attempt to ease you through the housing selection process in the month ahead.

First off, welcome to Pfohome! (pronounced pfo-HO-mee). Here you will find information about:
  • Important dates
  • Descriptions and Floor Plans of Pforzheimer House
  • Forms
  • Frequently asked Questions
  • Members of the Housing Committee
  • Important Housing Links
  • Pforzheimer House's Constitution
The first important date Rising Sophomores, Juniors, and Seniors must be aware of is the averaging form deadline. The averaging form will be filled out and submitted online. Averaging forms must be submitted on the website by Monday, April 20th at midnight. If you do not turn it in by that time, you will be moved to the bottom of the lottery list.

In order to get a room in Pforzheimer House, you will randomly be assigned a priority number by computer based on your class standing. The results of the priority assignments will be posted on Tuesday, April 28th at approximately 8:00 pm. Rising Seniors and Juniors will then return on Tuesday, May 5th and Wednesday, May 6th to pick their rooms.

Rising sophomores (current freshmen) will fill out summer preference forms, stating which rooms and rooming situations they would prefer. Preference forms will be available on the house website by May 15th. Sophomore rooms will be assigned in late July, in order of priority numbers drawn at the lottery this Spring. If after reading this document, you have questions about the housing lottery or other housing concerns, please check the Frequently Asked Questions Page. If you still have questions, please email Sue Watts, House Administrator (swatts@fas.harvard.edu).
