Welcome to the Harvard Premedical Society (HPS). We are a student-run organization at Harvard College committed to providing educational, support and volunteer opportunities for the campus premedical community.
Through HPS events such as our exploration of "Critical Health Issues for the 21st century" with a leading health expert, Choosing Medicine series and speaker panels, premedical education at Harvard is complemented with an awareness of current events in healthcare. HPS also organizes medical school visits, MCAT strategy sessions, mentorship and volunteering programs, special events, and panels, serving as a resource for students seeking a career in medicine. By encouraging the physicians of tomorrow to work together today, the Harvard Premedical Society does its part to build a spirit of cooperation, a spirit that is becoming ever more necessary in the medical profession.

HPS Freshmen Representative Application
Freshmen, if you are interested in becoming more involved with the Harvard Premedical Society, consider running to become a Freshmen Representative. This is a great way to become an integral part of our organization. The role of Freshmen Representative is primarily to serve as an ambassador to the freshman class, promoting HPS events and activities, encouraging others to participate, and contributing to future events. Becoming a Frosh Rep is a privilege and students should make a semester-long commitment to their responsibilities such as planning events, early morning postering, and spreading enthusiasm for HPS’s events to your peers. As Frosh Reps, you will work with upperclassmen and be directly involved in the planning and execution of events both large and small and thus gain valuable experience and mentoring. This is a great experience to become more involved with HPS and hopefully will give you insight for running for a board position come December.
APPLY NOW
HPS Premedical Peer-Advising Program
To both freshmen and upperclassmen, apply to be a PPP Mentor/Mentee! The mission of PPP is to provide a strong advising network for freshmen students interested in medical careers and facilitate mentoring experiences with Harvard upperclassmen before students enter the House advising system (Like a lil sib / big sib program). Advisees will gain incredible insight about course selection, choosing a concentration, research and clinical opportunities, MCAT preparation, and much more. The PPP also gives upperclassmen a valuable opportunity to share their practical wisdom on what it means to be premed at Harvard and serves as an integral premedical resource for freshman students.
Through intimate monthly meetings conducted over dinner and in conjunction with HPS events as well as program-wide gatherings each semester, it is our hope that PPP pairs will form lasting mentoring relationships, establish strong advising connections, and encourage a mutual support network for premedical students on campus.
Because PPP hopes to foster consistent and long-term relationships among its participants, we sincerely hope that you will decide to join the Premed Peer-Advising Program for an experience that promises to be both meaningful and rewarding!
APPLY NOW
*Both applications will be due by Sunday, September 20th, 2009.*
