About Rhazes

Muhammad ibn Zakariya al-Razi (محمد زکریای رازی)

Welcome to Rhazes Web, I am Muhammad ibn Zakariya al-Razi but my friends call me Rhazes. I am an esteemed Persian physician, alchemist, chemist, philosopher, and scholar and I am trained in the practice of Persian, Greek, and Indian medicine. I studied medicine under Ali ibn Sahl Rabban al-Tabari. I was born in 865 and will die in 925. I have written over 200 works, a sampling of which is listed below.

It is my belief that the physician must always make the patient believe that he will recover, for the state of the body is linked to the state of the mind. I also believe in the use of simple treatments over more complex ones. Therefore, I commissioned the creation of this website to share my superior knowledge and the benefits of my experience with everyone. My services are in such high demand that I could not possibly see all the patients who would like my services; but now, you can access my wisdom without leaving your home. This will free up my time to work on my other interests and to write books. It has long been said of me that I am compassionate and that I devote my services both to the rich and poor, I hope this website lets me do this even more!
