HRFC Vs. Brown
Harvard came out strong against Brown this Saturday, forcing a knock on during the opening kickoff. After several positive phases, what looked like an early scoring drive was ended in a lost lineout. Harvard’s forward pack began dominating scrums early and continued to impose their will on Brown for the duration of the game. Brown capitalized on a costly penalty deep in Harvard territory to go up 3-0, but Harvard was quick to respond with fullback Max de la Cal making good on the 25 meter penalty. Late in the half some sloppy tackling lead to a Brown try. The conversion was missed. Quick to respond was freshman winger Brendan Hanrahan who leveled things for Harvard. Half time score: 8-8. Late in the second half Harvard took control with effective backline play to match their strong forward attack. Jonathan Cummins scored a crucial try which de la Cal converted to seal the victory for Harvard.
