About Us

Who we are:

The Student Labor Action Movement (SLAM) was formed in the fall of 2005.

The launch of new union campaigns for better contracts, the Allied security officer campaign to form a union, and the ever present violation of workers rights on our own campus, prompted students to reinvigorate the student-labor movement on campus, previously, the Progressive Student Labor Movement (PSLM). With the formation of SLAM, students hope to raise awareness of labor issues on campus, support workers and unions, and to show the Harvard administration that workers and students united are a powerful force for change.
