Weekly Inspiration
Five things that are inspiring, confounding and otherwise engaging me in the world of fashion this week….
#1: “The Golden Key“
Sea of Shoes blogger Jane Aldridge is no stranger to whimsical looks. Nor is she averse to donning a tutu, baby blue tube top and Marc Jacobs disco booties for a romp in the woods (with some beautiful baroque props). Her recent post “The Golden Key” epitomizes the fairy tale-esque chicness and impeccable mane that has put Jane on the top of the blogging game.

#2: Kenzo Menswear Fall 2012
Humberto Leon and Carol Lim (of Opening Ceremony) were a hit last season with their womens line for Kenzo; they followed up on that success with a pitch perfect mens lineup for fall. Green has been all over the fall runways, and this chartreuse blazer that came strolling down the runway 36 looks in had me drooling.
#3: Details does sporty
I was looking through one of the back issues of Details lying around my room the other day and rediscovered one of my favorite editorial spreads from last year. “Easy Street,” shot by Matthew Brookes, has got to be the best iteration of menswear’s obsession with sporty fashion I’ve seen thus far.
#4: Best Dressed at the Golden Globes
My picks for best dressed at the Golden Globes this year: Angelina in Versace Atelier, Tilda in Haider and Emma in Lanvin.
#5: Girls in Suits
The women spotted out and about in Milan and Paris for the menswear shows have been rocking dandy-approved three piece suits and spunky neckties (almost) better than their male counterparts. This isn’t costume, it’s serious sartorial cross-appeal.
