Fashion Week 2012: Vestis Blog Relaunch Party
A beautiful crop of Harvard fashionphiles stopped by the Adams UCR this past Thursday for an, ahem, nonalcoholic cocktail party (winking faces all around). Thrown jointly by IDENTITIES fashion show and the Vestis Council in honor of this here blog’s soon to be renovation, the shindig featured video footage from Spring 2012 fashion shows streaming on a big screen, good company and innumerable bags of Pop Chips.
The ladies of Identities turned out in lovely frocks from Rent the Runway to toast the blog relaunch. Creative Directors Racheal Epstein and Rachel Chanen stood out in fitted tribal print sheaths by Proenza Schouler and Thakoon while Elaine Cheng opted for a cloudy pink Nina Ricci confection. Schuyler Polk of Eleganza eschewed dresses for a wide-legged, strapless jumpsuit. Shoes were a focal point of many a girl’s outfit. Vestis president Anna Remus sported daring neon yellow platforms while Meryl Natow grounded her sliver of an LBD with chunky heeled honey-brown sandals.
For the boys, the dress code was a little more relaxed. Blazers were tossed on over tee shirts and tanks (blame the warm weather) and dark jeans. Statement wristwatches were the accessory of choice and shirts were generally left partially unbuttoned and conspicuously necktie-less.
When the UCR grew too hot and stuffy, bright-eyed party goers spilled out onto the outdoors terrace to catch the spring breeze. It was quite the night.
