Fashion Distilled

The Look: Hidetoshi Nakata, Japanese footballer par excellance, has the sort of irreverent, euro meets neo-prep vibe that makes the fashion chicks go cray cray. Mr. Nakata takes Mr. Porter’s latest journal issue by storm, wearing an appealing mix of colorful plaid and sleek tailoring.

The Buy: short-sleeve shirts aren’t just for your lab’s nerdy post doc anymore. Go for this fitted number from Topman. The snowdrop print is eye catching without being being overwhelming.

The Face: After taking a turn on Cavalli’s Fall 2012 runway–wearing a purple embellished gown cut down to YA KNOW no less–Naomi Campbell is back on top… not that she ever left. Here she is gracing one of the 8 new covers of Antidote Magazine’s Icon issue.

The Buzz: There are mens fashion magazines, and then there’s Hercules. Volume 12 of the cutting-edge Spanish glossy (“The Havanna Affair”) is accompanied by a new fashion short by Luca Finotti titled “Volcano.” The video, which features a lone model dripping water, soulfully walking and gazing pensively off into surging tidewaters… all whilst wearing Giorgio Armani Spring 2012 to an orchestral score…. is beyond epic.

The Story: Anna Della Russo has done an accessories collection for H&M. I’m tempted to WTF here but seeing as its ADR, this collection is sure to churn out some suitably tacky showstoppers on the cheap at the very least.
