BIG/LIL SIBS

Chair: Julia Ye (juliaye@fas.harvard.edu)

Board: Abby Koffe, Debbie Lin, Sonya Mollinger

WISHR's Big/Little Sibs mentor program is a great way for freshmen to get helpful advice and gain insight into the Harvard experience-directly from another student! The program pairs freshmen with upperclassmen who can answer questions about academic concerns and campus life and plans a variety of fun events for the sib pairs.

BUSINESS & PUBLIC RELATIONS

Chair: Jennifer Kusma (jkusma@fas.harvard.edu)

Vice Chair: Elizabeth Miranda (emiranda@fas.harvard.edu)

Board: Shereen Asmat, Hanna Choi, Elissa Jennings, Srinidhi Reddy

This committee seeks to secure funding for our organization through fundraising drives and contact with major pharmaceuticals, biotech companies, and other science-related industries. In addition, members will help promote WISHR events on campus and work closely with contacts in other clubs for the planning of co-sponsored events.

COMMUNITY SERVICE

Chair: Belinda Wang (bwang@fas.harvard.edu)

Vice-Chair: Diana Robles (dcrobles@fas.harvard.edu)

Board: Kamilia Kaczor, Yuying Luo, Denise Xu, Yuie (Janie) Zhang, Litong (Lilly) Zhao

The energy and resources of WISHR aren't limited to the confines of the Harvard campus! Our goal is to offer our manpower to service and community-initiative programs, to form alliances with organizations and to participate in events at school and in the greater Boston area.  Last year, our successful breast cancer awareness project raised thousands of dollars towards breast cancer research!

SPEAKER SERIES

Chair: Francesca Reindel (freindel@fas.harvard.edu)

Vice-Chair: Isha Jain (ijain@fas.harvard.edu)

Board: Jordon Bock, Jenny (Jingjing) Chen, Fei Song

Inspired by the success of WISHR's National Symposium for the Advancement of Women in Science (NSAWS), the Speaker Series aims to create timely and relevant panels throughout the year to address questions faced by the student body.  In the past, the Speaker Series threw several panels on topics ranging from Undergraduate Research Opportunities to Orangutans!  We also created the Spark Award Banquet to honor an outstanding woman in science, and we look forward to continuing this tradition.

STUDENT AFFAIRS

Chair: Mimmie Kwong (mkwong@fas.harvard.edu)

Vice-Chair: Victoria Liu (vtliu@fas.harvard.edu)

Board: Kanyinsola Aibana, Cindy Guan, Emily Reese, Sasha Syrkina

Be on the lookout for study breaks, Friday morning treats outside of the Science Center, and post exam socials! This committee aims to promote unity and spirit within the community of women science concentrators to give Harvard's women in science a chance to get to know each other.  Committee members will organize monthly social events and outings for WISHR members.

STUDENT RESOURCES

Chair: Koning Shen (kshen@fas.harvard.edu)

Vice-Chair: Ellen Yan (ellenyan@fas.harvard.edu)

Board: Kelly Brock, Leslie Rea, Hann-Shuin Yew

Student Resources Committee seeks to compile information about career and research opportunities for students on campus.  This committee works with the webmaster to design and update the WISHR webpage with job listings and pertinent resources for job searches.  Members will also collaborate with the secretary to publish a bi-monthly newsletter that aims to provide useful information regarding upcoming events and issues surrounding women scientists, laboratory opportunities, and summer internships.  In addition, they are responsible for maintaining WISHR's alumni database.
