"What's wrong now, Akane?" He sounded annoyed. "I forgot my tent." At hearing this, Ranma starting laughing. His laughing was cut off abruptly when Akane pounded him into the ground. "You deserved that." "Why? I'm not the idiot who forgot her tent." He said as he climbed out of the hole he made going into the ground. He was immediately knocked back in the hole. "It wasn't my idea to come here." "Hey, I didn't invite you anyway." Getting out of the hole again. This time however, she didn't hit him. "I guess you'll just have to sleep under the stars tonight." Ranma said as he came up behind her. "Oof." Akane elbowed him in the stomach. "Why don't I just use your tent?" "You want to sleep in the same tent as me?" Ranma asked still holding his stomach.. "Of course not you idiot. You can sleep outside." "I don't think so." "You wanna spar over it?" "Why not?" "No special moves." "No special moves." They went into attack positions and began. Akane did a high kick to Ranma's head. He dodged. She went for a series of punches. He dodged. "Aren't you going to fight back?" She growled. "O-kay," He replied as he swept her legs out from under her. She landed on her behind with a loud SMACK. "I won." Akane got up and walked away. "Stupid tomboy." Ranma said when she went into the tree line. Ranma finished setting up camp. When Akane came back a couple hours later, it was already dark. She saw that Ranma had already started a fire and had some food cooking. =Figures he couldn't wait for me to start cooking for him. With how often he tries to avoids eating it, you'd think he was afraid to.= "You're back." "Yes, I am." She didn't sound too thrilled about it. "I cooked dinner, and your bag is ready for you." He said as he pointed to the pot on the fire and then to the sleeping bag next to the fire. "You don't seriously expect me to sleep out here, do you?" "Why not?" the wind picked up just then. "Feels like it's going to get cold." Akane gave him a dirty look, but grabbed a paper plate and put some rice on it. She started eating, but her expression didn't change. =The worst part is, his food turns out better than mine.= "Well, I'm going to turn in now. Enjoy." "Idiot." She stated to herself. After she finished eating, she crawled into her sleeping bag. She felt something hard under it. She got out and lifted the bag. =That bastard. He had to have put those rocks there on purpose.= She moved her bag to a clear spot by the fire and got back in. The wind picked up again. She shivered. Ranma watched her from inside his tent. =Oh well, I guess she's suffered enough for tonight.= "Yo, Akane. Come on in." "Why would I want to do that, you pervert?" "Suits me just fine." He ducked back in the tent. After a few minutes Akane thought, =He's not going to offer again. EERRR.= She heard the tent flap unzip, but he didn't invite her in this time. She went ahead and pulled her bag into the tent. After her eyes got adjusted to the minimal light, she looked around. =He had it all ready for me to come in. He had this planed from the beginning.= She put her bag on the air-mat on the side away from Ranma. He looked like he was already asleep. She crawled into the bag again with her back to Ranma and tried to get to sleep. =I'm still cold,= she thought as she shivered again. Akane could also feel her teeth chattering. =I wish I hadn't come.= She heard something move. Then a zipper. She tried to look as if she was asleep. She heard another zipper. This time it was the one on her sleeping bag. =That pervert. What's he doing now?= Akane was surprised that she didn't make a move yet. She realized she was really curious about what Ranma was going to do. She heard a zipper again, then another one. She felt something against her. She started to feel warm. It took her a moment but, =He put our sleeping bags together. He's trying to warm me up more.= "Akane, I know you're going to be mad in the morning when you wake up, but you seemed so cold. I didn't want you to freeze. I hope you don't knock me too far away when you wake up." =Ranma?= =I'm surprised she let me do this. Hell, I'm surprised I did this. I know she's awake too. I thought for sure she'd kick me through the tent. Of course, she probably doesn't want to make a hole in it. She'll wait until we're outside in the morning.= The next morning when Akane woke, she noticed something strange. She was looking right at Ranma's closed eyes. She was facing him. She also noticed that she had her arms around him, and visa-versa. What surprised her though was how much she enjoyed it. She pulled him a little closer. =It's so warm like this. I really don't want to move.= A moment later she thought, =Of course I don't want Ranma to see me like this.= She started to untangle herself from him. As she was doing so, she thought about the dream she had. =Should I tell him about it? No, He'll probably just laugh at me and tell me I'm a ditz or something.= She untangled herself and went outside. Ranma woke up a couple minutes later. Well, no that wasn't true. He left the tent a couple minutes later. He woke up as Akane started to move. He didn't want to let her know that he was awake though. He knew she'd be embarrassed by how slowly she tried to get out. She was only doing it half-heartedly. =It was almost as if she didn't want to leave. No, that can't be it.= After he got out of the tent, he saw Akane sitting by the fire. She was getting ready to start breakfast. "Um, Akane. Do you want some help with that?" Her expression went from peaceful to pissed. "Why? Afraid I'm going to poison you?" She snapped. "THAT'S NOT IT!!" He exclaimed. Then a little softer he added, "I just thought I'd see if you wanted any help. That's all." He sounded sincere. Akane quickly lost her anger and motioned for him to come closer. =Uh oh, He thought, She's going to get me as soon as I get closer.= "I accept your offer." She replied as he sat next to her. Ranma was surprised, and it showed. Akane decided it was better to ignore his surprise. They started to work together on the meal. After fifteen minutes they were eating. Both had slowly started to eat, but they both gobbled it down. Together they had made a meal that was better than either had alone. "Ranma?" He looked up at her. "I had an interesting dream last night. Would you like to hear about it?" He noticed how reluctant she was to ask. "Sure. Go ahead." "O-kay, It started off with pictures of you as a girl and your father as a panda." He didn't interrupt, but he did look interested." It seemed like I was watching TV. Then I saw just about everyone we know appear one by one, and everyone was running. The screen filled up with them. Then I was next to you, and um..." She blushed as she thought about it. "..Dancing. I even got a close up of my..."She became even redder. "...my backside." Ranma looked even more interested. =I wonder why he's looking at me like that?= =Hate to think it, but I wouldn't mind seeing that.= He thought. "Then everyone was running again and individual pictures flashed with the running figures. And at the end, you and I were next to each other and leaned on each other back to back. I even had my long hair. There was even a song in it. It wasn't my voice, but it did sound as if it was meant to be me singing to you." she finished. [Author's note: Anyone who has seen the first TV series should have figured out by now that Akane's dream was the opening to the show.] "Sounds interesting. Do you remember the song?" He asked. Akane blushed again, and Ranma couldn't help but think how cute she looked when she blushed. "Yes." "Could you tell me how it went?" She closed her eyes, stood up, and started singing. [Author's note: Akane is singing it a little slower and sweeter than it is on the credits.] Yappa paa, yappa paa -- don't know what to do My heart is not a game -- it's mah-jongg to you. Yappa paa, yappa paa -- feel like such a shrew Who needs boys? Don't you dare -- Make me wild like you. Before you, boys got on their knees Ranma, Ranma -- it's me you always tease. Since the day I ran into you Ranma, Ranma you -- Stole my heart and you -- Don't you dare go and -- Make me wild like you. Somebody tell me why it's so hard To say those three words, "I love you"? If I let myself give into you I'll become just as -- wild as you! Before you come in like a breeze Won't you stop and ring the bell, please? Why not let me love you on my own? I'd be better off without you -- But just tonight it's all right... Until tomorrow, all right. Every time your eyes turn to me Ranma, Ranma you -- Make me feel dizzy. Someday we may be more than "friends" Ranma, Ranma you've Gone and done it true -- Can't you see that you've -- Made me wild like you. As Akane sang the song her face just kept blushing more and more. Ranma almost though her face would explode. Akane opened her eyes and looked at Ranma. =He's blushing. I can't believe how red he is. It looks like his face is about to explode.= Then another thought came to her. =How red am I?= "You know, Akane," =Here it comes, he's going to laugh.= "That was very beautiful." Her jaw dropped and eyes bugged out. =It was beautiful?= "Oh Ranma, do you mean that?" =She sounds so sweet, and she looks so cute.= "Yes, I do." He paused a moment. "Just one question." He Smiled. "Yes?" =Here it comes=, she thought. "Have I really made you wild like me?" He was still smiling, and it was a good-hearted smile. That smile gave her an idea. She got a mischievous grin of her lips. "What do you think?" She asked as she crouched down and mimicked Ranma's stance when he started the "Cat Fist" technique. Ranma realized what she was doing, got up and grinned. "Here kitty, kitty...Here Kitty, kitty." He responded. Akane pounced on him and meowed. He caught her and they both landed on the ground. They rolled around wrestled on the ground. Akane suddenly jumped away and landed, ready to pounce. When she did, Ranma went to block, but she landed on his lap, mimicking what he had once done to her. She made some purring sounds. Ranma saw another mischievous grin on her face and started to worry. =Oh, man. I hope she doesn't do anything painful down their=, he thought about his manhood. What happened next surprised him. She looked at him and gave him a quick kiss on the lips, once again mimicking what he'd done to her. Ranma couldn't believe it. Akane crawled off him and sat down. "How was that?" She asked with a smile. Ranma couldn't speak. All he could manage was a few gurgles. She giggled. That brought him around. "You, know what? Earlier I was thinking how cute you looked..." She looked surprised. "But you're giggling convinced me otherwise.." She started to clench her fist. "..You're beautiful." She was stunned. He took advantage of that and got close to her. He kissed her passionately. She regained enough composure to kiss him back. The kiss went on for a couple minutes when they both realized what they were doing. At the exact same time, they stopped and looked at each other. Both looked pretty sheepish. "Um...Akane." "Yes, Ranma." "No matter what I might say later, I want you to remember one thing...." A pause. "I meant what I said. You are beautiful." Akane felt a tear in her eye. "Oh Ranma." She said it very sweetly and femininely. Then, she kissed him again. He kissed back, and they kept going until they gradually let it end on it's own. Epilogue: Kasumi greeted Akane and Ranma when they came in. "How was the trip?" "Well, lets see, Akane never got a chance to cook, so we're still alive. Of course that was the only thing that went right." Ranma put his pack down. "I know I packed my tent. Don't get mad at me because you had to sleep outside." Akane dropped her pack as well. "Tomboy." "Pervert." "Un-cute." Ranma and Akane argued as they went up the stairs. =I guess my plan hadn't worked then. Poor Ranma. Had I known Akane would just take his tent instead of them sharing it, I never would have taken Akane's tent out of her pack.= Kasumi thought as she picked up Akane's pack. Something fell out. Kasumi picked up Akane's notebook. She saw some words written on a page and couldn't help reading them. [Yappa paa, yappa paa -- don't know what to do] a little farther [Ranma, Ranma you --Stole my heart and you --] farther still [Somebody tell me why it's so hard To say those three words, "I love you"?] finally [Ranma, Ranma you've Gone and done it true -- Can't you see that you've -- Made me wild like you.] There was even a little heart at the end. Kasumi put the notebook back in the bag and went upstairs. She heard Ranma and Akane talking in Akane's room. "Do you think she believed us?" Ranma asked. "Hard to tell. I think she did though." Akane replied. "That's good. We have enough problem's with our families as it is. We don't want them to know about us yet." "How Long do you think we can keep this up?" "A while at least. We generally have time to ourselves here, and if we want to really be alone, all I have to do is say 'I'm going on a training trip' and our fathers will make me take you with." "Yeah, but what if they don't?" Kasumi stopped listening at that point and thought to herself, =Don't worry little sister, If our father and Mr. Saotome don't bring it up, I will.= She smiled as she went back down the stairs to finish her housework. end part 1 O-kay this is my second posting.
