Assorted Other Characters
Note: These are the more obscure anime characters and those that are (seemingly) only in the manga series (at least so far).
Unryuu Akari Lover of Pigs
Akari is a sumo pig trainer (Don't ask me what that entails.) Having been around pigs all her life, she absolutely loves them. Her grandfather tells her that she must marry a strong man--strong enough to defeat Katsunnishiki, her huge pet sumo pig. One day, as she strolls down a stret in Nerima, she spots Ryouga and Ranma fighting, and decides to send Katsunnishiki to attack the both of them. Ryouga manages to defeat the pig, and Akari immediately falls in love with him. She gives him a whole bunch of presents with a pig motif. Ryouga, being cursed as he is, becomes upset and runs off. Akari misunderstands, thinking that he hates pigs, but is in love with him so much that she decides to hate pigs, too--for his sake. Later, Ranma, seeing all of this going on, gets tired of the misunderstandings and tosses P-chan into a bathtub filled with hot water. Akari, seeing how the man she loves is in fact half-pig, is overjoyed. Ryouga still doesn't know what to do, his feelings torn between Akari and--still-- Akane.... Personally, I think he should go for Ukyou.... ^_^
Kenzan Konatsu The, Uh, Kunoichi?
Konatsu is a character whom I don't really understand, 'cos I haven't seen much of her--uh, him. Konatsu apparently is one of the best kunoichi (female ninjas) around, despite being a male. He was raised as a female, and that's why things are so confused with him. He winds up falling in love with Ukyou (such a generous person!), who has given him a job as a server at Ucchan's, as well as room and board.
Shinnosuke Amnesia Incarnate
Shinnosuke lives in the Forest of the Water of Life, as one of its keepers (along with his grandfather). The reason the Forest needs keepers is because the Water of Life has made all the animals that live there grow to enormous size. When Akane and Shinnosuke were very, very young, he rescued her from those animals, while sustaining a terrible wound himself. Akane gets this dream one night of those happenings, and returns to the Forest to try to find what happened there so long ago. She stumbles onto Shinnosuke, who has bad, bad, bad amnesia. It turns out that to save Shinnosuke's life long ago, his grandfather had to give him the Water of Life--and do so repeatedly. One of the side effects is that he gets amnesia constantly, and has to be reminded of everything that happens. Now, the Water of Life is drying up, and they must find the source--some type of magical moss that grows on this ancient dragon--to save his life once and for all. Ranma arrives, searching for Akane, as does Ryouga, and both are drawn into this quest. (In the meantime, Shinnosuke falls in love with Akane....) After a hard-fought battle, they manage to grab a patch of the moss and heal Shinnosuke's wounds permanently. Unfortunately, the amnesia continues, but all else is well.
