Saotome Ranma The Aquatranssexual, Ranchan

Again, the title character. He's one of the best martial artists out there, and can't refuse any sort of challenge involving those two words (martial art, martial art gymnastics, martial art skating, martial art cooking....) He'll usually win, too. He's been cursed with the Spring of the Drowned Girl, and as a female is Ranma-chan. (The male form is Ranma-kun.) He somehow ends up betrothed to various females (Akane, Shampoo, Ukyou) through no fault of his own, and is constantly pursued by others, both female and male (there are those guys so clueless as to not realize that Ranma-chan is the altered form of Ranma-kun).

Ranma's female form. Ranma really doesn't like being part female, and will try most anything to be turned back to normal. He's not hentai--perverted--he just seems to have the worst timing when it comes to Akane walking in on him.... However, it seems that after a while, Ranma does get used to the idea of being female, and is often in this form. Kuno Tatewaki is forever agonizing between Tendo Akane and Ranma-chan--or, to him, the "Pigtailed Girl."

Saotome Genma Mr. Panda

This is Ranma's father, Saotome, who turns into a panda when splashed. He actually enjoys his panda form, since he's by nature so lazy, and what better way to lounge around aimlessly than as a large, lethargic creature? It's his fault that Ranma is engaged to both Akane and Kuonji Ukyou, due to promises he made while Ranma was still far, far too young to understand. His three most prominent character traits are laziness, greed (especially when it comes to food), and cowardice.

Saotome Nodoka Auntie Saotome

This is Ranma's mother and the wife of Genma (why she married Genma, no one can guess). She seems very much to be an older version of Kasumi.... Genma had felt that he couldn't really train Ranma well with a loving mother around, so he decided to take Ranma traveling, away from Nodoka. She allowed this on the condition that Genma raise Ranma as a "manly man," or otherwise, the father and son would have to commit seppuku (suicide) with her trusty katana (that's what she's holding in the picture above, wrapped in cloth). Of course, with Ranma being only half a man anyway, this causes tremendous problems...so whenever she drops by, she never seems to see Ranma or Genma, only this large panda bear, and this red-headed, pig-tailed cousin of the Tendou girls named Ranko....
