FROM THE EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR

Tainted Legacy

In my last column I introduced you to my new book, Tainted Legacy: 9/11
and the Ruin of Human Rights, to be published this fall by Nation Books.
The challenge that the human rights movement faces in the United States
today is complex - in part because President Bush and his Administration

policies that would be abhorrent to any truly human rights-respecting
nation. This is a subtly confusing tactic and I try in chapter two of the
book to sort some of it out.
