About Us

The Harvard Society of Arab Students, whose members include Arabs, Arab-Americans, and others interested in the Arab world, seeks to raise awareness at Harvard as well as Boston of cultural, social, and political issues related to the region. It also provides opportunites for its members to gather in social settings and enjoy Arabic food, culture, and company. Among the events that SAS has sponsored is the annual Intercollegiate Arab Students Conference. It has put on several lectures and workshops by prominent personalities including Dr. Hanan Ashrawi, Professor Noam Chomsky, and Queen Nour of Jordan. It is also part of the SAS tradition to organize parties, study breaks, and other more cultural events. Please see the navigation bar at left for a listing of our coming events, in addition to press statements and pictures from past events. We encourage all Arab and Arab-American students to e-mail us at the above address if they are considering applying to or visiting Harvard. We would be happy to offer any help, including accommodations and transportation.
