Audition for BachSoc

Auditions 2009-10

Auditions for the 2009-10 season will be held on Tuesday-Saturday, September 1-5. See below for more about the audition process. All auditions are held in the Music Building basement - walk into the Science Center through the main entrance and continue to walk straight ahead, exiting the building through the doors beyond the stairwell. The Music Building will be straight ahead to your left. Once you enter the building, follow the signs to the BachSoc audition room.

The Audition Process

Our super-relaxed auditions include only 5 to 7 minutes of playing total in front of our Music Director, our General Managers, and perhaps the principal player from your section. Each auditionee will be asked to prepare two contrasting selections from your instrument's standard repertoire (for about 5 minutes of total playing time) and may also be given a short excerpt to sightread.

We will also offer mid-year auditions during January reading period. To sign up for an audition time, please send us an email (bachsoc@hcs.harvard.edu) with your name, instrument, and general availability.
