We are pleased to announce that Theo Breen '14 has been selected as BachSoc's next music director! A junior English concentrator in Winthrop House, Theo comes to BachSoc with extensive experience as a double bassist and conductor. Theo currently serves as the assistant conductor for the Mozart Society Orchestra, and he formerly played the double bass with BachSoc. Come to our final concert of the year on April 20th to see Theo conduct Salieri's La Tempesta di Mare. We are thrilled to be working with Theo, and we look forward to an exciting season next year.

Congratulations to George Fu '13, the winner of the 2012-2013 BachSoc Concerto Competition. George will perform Liszt's Piano Concerto No. 1 in E-flat major at our next concert on November 30, 2012.
We would also like to congratulate Danielle Rabinowitz '14, the winner of the 2012-2013 BachSoc Composition Competition. Danielle's winning composition, "Animus, A Symphonic Poem," will also be featured at our concert on November 30.

BachSoc is seeking new members for our upcoming season! Auditions will be held in the Music Building from Wednesday, September 5th, to Saturday, September 9th. Specific information can be found on our auditions page and you can sign up online for an audition here!
Every year, BachSoc runs a Concerto Competition and a Composition Competition, both of which are open to all Harvard undergraduates. For application information, please see our competitions page. This year, the winning submissions will be performed at our second concert of the season on November 30, 2012. The deadline for applications to the Concerto Competition is September 29, and the deadline for submissions to the Composition Competition is October 20. Questions should be directed to our competitions coordinator, Julianna Brunini, who can be reached at brunini (at) college (dot) harvard (dot) edu. We encourage all who are interested to apply.

We are pleased to announce that Lucien Werner '13 has been selected as BachSoc's next music director! A junior government concentrator in Adams House, Luc comes to BachSoc with extensive experience as a cellist and conductor. In addition, Luc has also been chosen as the winner of this year's concerto competition! Come to our final concert of the year on April 20th to see Luc conduct Mozart's Overture to the Magic Flute. Then, stick around to see him perform Shostakovich's Cello Concerto No. 1. We are thrilled to be working with Luc, and we look forward to an exciting season next year.
