2007-2008 Bach Society Orchestra

Management

Beverly Chu '09, violin
   General Manager
Peoria, IL

Bev shows us that orchestral violinists can be a little bit classical, a little bit rock 'n' roll.  A junior resident of Dunster House concentrating in Psychology with a secondary in VES, she takes on the job of GM this fall as she leaves her position as Social Chair.  There will be no doubt that even as a GM, her love for a good time will spice up the sometimes milder BachSoc social scene. Email: chu@fas.harvard.edu.

Cindy Wang '10, violin/viola
   General Manager, webmaster
Geneva, IL

Most likely to talk about BachSoc in her sleep, Cindy is a sophomore in Lowell House (but more likely to live in lab) concentrating in science (aka Chemical and Physical Biology). When not BachSoccing or psetting or labbing, she can be found perfecting her 4.5-hour sleep cycle or her extensive flip-flop tan. Very ambitious and hard-working, she plans to conquer the world someday through the auspices of BachSoc. Email: xinwang@fas.harvard.edu.

Megan Galbreth '08, cello
   General Manager
Signal Mountain, TN

Megan's persona is quite a refreshing contrast to the Asian math/science mobs of BachSoc. A senior in Lowell House, this French and Linguistics joint-concentrator is great at striking up pleasant conversations that make you feel right at home. Her friendliness makes BachSoc the small, close-knit community that some other large Harvard orchestras lack.  Email: galbreth@fas.harvard.edu.

Yening Qin '10, violin
   Librarian
West Roxbury, MA

Yening, a Leverett House sophomore concentrating in Economics, loves his job so much he dreams of photocopying oversized violin parts. Just don’t ever ask him to order music of composers who are still under copyright; he just might have a spasm. He also has an uncanny ability to match people with their animal look-alikes.  If you haven’t noticed, Alex looks a lot like a mouse…  Email: ydqin@fas.harvard.edu.

Yao Lu '08, Principal VIolin II
   Competitions Coordinator
Okemos, MI

This fearless leader of the second violins is one who knows how to put pressure on the firsts like never before. An Economics concentrator from Pfoho, this senior finds her strength to lead with a power lunch of organic peanut butter, bananas, and raisins on wheat bread. She notes that since becoming competitions coordinator, she has mastered the art of the rejection email.  Email: yaolu@fas.harvard.edu.

Veronica Koven-Matasy '10,
violin
   Tickets & Merchandise Chair
Ashmont, MA

This sophomore Classics concentrator from Cabot House will hook you up with tickets, CDs, and other BachSoc goodies, so long as she’s not brushing her Rapunzel-length hair. Warning: Approach her with caution when she’s at the ticket counter and there aren’t enough single bills to go around.  Don’t say I didn’t warn you.  Email: vkoven@fas.harvard.edu.

Darja Djordjevic '08, violin
   Social Chair
Chicago, IL

Darja Djordjevic (dar-E-uh let’s-not-even-try-the-last-name) (Social Chair) is a senior in Lowell House concentrating in anthropology.  She maintains a large collection of unique necklaces and uses high-heeled boots to enhance her already over-endowed height.  After a summer of intense thesis-researching, she is now well-versed in the nuances of the French medical system.  Email: ddjord@fas.harvard.edu.
