What’s It Like Being a Tutor at Cabot?

Each year, Cabot House selects a new batch of resident tutors. Many prospective tutors have questions: about the house system, roles and responsibilities as a tutor, and what makes being a tutor at Cabot House such a unique and rewarding experience.

Ariel Group Professional Speaking Workshop on Feb. 3, 3-6 p.m. in CLR

Cabot House is excited to host a public speaking workshop by the Ariel Group, a firm that trains leaders in education, nonprofit, and other organizations. The Ariel Group will use theater techniques to help you polish your speaking skills and improve your leadership presence. Dinner & Discussion with Antonio Rodriguez January 31st, 6-8 PM in PDR:

Join the Cabot Entrepreneurship Series for a dinner and discussion with Matrix General Partner and serial entrepreneur Antonio Rodriguez. Antonio co-founded several startups, including abuzz, Memora, MyPublisher, and Tabblo, and served as CTO of HP before joining Matrix Partners, a prominent Boston early stage venture capital firm that has invested in companies such as Apple, Gilt Groupe, and HubSpot. Come have dinner with Antonio and learn from his experiences working in startup, technology, and venture capital, all in the Boston ecosystem! RSVP here. Tutor Recruiting Sign-ups this week

February is the season for recruiting tutors for next year, and Cabot is looking for some tutors and students to help with the process. Specifically, Cabot is looking for approximately 12 students and about 8 to 10 tutors to help interview prospective new tutors on Friday, Feb. 10th from 3 to 7:30 p.m. All Student feedback is very important to the hiring process for new tutors, so if you’re interested, you can sign up here or email Dana Foarta (ofoarta@MIT.EDU). If you are interested, please RSVP by Monday, Feb. 6th so that a schedule can be assigned to you.

Master’s Open House:  Thursday, Jan. 26 from 8-9:30 p.m.

Stephanie and Rakesh Khurana warmly invite all of Cabot to an Open House at the Master’s Residence (107 Walker Street) from 8 to 9:30 p.m. This event features catering from the Middle East Restaurant. Be sure to join for good food, good conversation, and good cheer with the House Masters.
