Welcome to the Cabot House Pre-Med Advising website. Harvard's system of pre-medical advising is House-based. Practically speaking, this means that:
The Cabot House resident pre-med tutors are your primary source of information about the health professions and the application process.
We work as a team so we can support your needs as comprehensively as possible. Please contact any of us so we can get to know you, help you make your decision to go into medicine (or not), and guide you through the admissions process.
When you start the actual application process you will be assigned an advisor from the Cabot Pre-Med Committee (one of us or a non-resident premed advisor), who will be responsible for writing your House letter. Because of the complexity of the letter-writing process, the resident pre-med tutors are usually unable to write letters for all of their advisees.
- The Cabot House Premedical Advisory Committee writes a House letter supporting your application to medical school. This letter is based on your other letters of recommendation, information from your Personal Information Form, discussions between you and your personal advisor/letter writer, your grades, and your MCAT scores.
