Ivet Bell | Prime Minister
My name is Ivet Bell, and I hail from the city of Vancouver, in Beautiful British Columbia. I’m a third-year Economics major who also holds a passion for Philosophy, my secondary. You can also spot me in French and Spanish courses. As President of the Canadian Club, my goals are to assure that the club holds bi-weekly open social events, that we create and sustain strong alumni connections, and that we hold frequent forums with Canadian public figures. Outside of the club, I maintain relationships with the National Youth Council, Harvard Undergraduate Council, and Harvard Students for Scholars at Risk. I love drinking exotic tea, breaking it down at dance-offs, travelling and volunteering abroad, and learning new languages. I’m always ready to chat, so get in touch!
Mark Krass | Treasurer (Minister of Finance)
Gary Gerbrandt | Social Co-chair (Minister of Love)
My name is Gary Gerbrandt. I’m a History concentrator in the Class of 2014 who hails from the lovely city of Barrie, Ontario, and finds himself living in Leverett House. I am beyond excited to be a co-Minister of Love (ahem, social chair) with the wonderful Meghan Smith. I’ll be here to help plan fun events and random parties for all of you Canadians and your numerous non-Canadian friends. Outside of the Canadian Club, I’m kind of a busy person—co-President of the Harvard Independent, tutor with PBHA’s Mission Hill After School Program, occasional member of the Harvard Democrats, PAF, and occasionally a few other organizations which Harvard doesn’t really recognize and I probably shouldn’t write about. (Feel free to ask me what that means.) Fun fact about me: I was a child actor. If you’ve ever seen the film Serendipity, I was that obnoxious little devil-costumed kid who pushes all the buttons in the elevator and keeps John Cusack from Kate Beckinsale. Please feel free to call/email/text/write me about anything social-related; let’s work together to have a lot of Canadian fun!
Daniel Hilhorst | Freshman Rep (Minister of Youth)
Charlotte Horton | Minister of Alumni Affairs
Hi! My name is Charlotte Horton, and I am a junior from Oakville, Ontario. I was born in Edmonton, and have also lived in Calgary. I live in Winthrop House, where I am the IM Captain for Ice Hockey and Ultimate Frisbee. I also participate in IM Crew, inner tube water polo, softball, and am hoping to try every IM sport before I graduate! I also express my national pride as a member of the women’s club hockey team. I am a student worker at the Harvard Alumni Association, where I work with Clubs and Shared Interest Groups, and at the Admissions Office. I am concentrating in History of Science, focusing on the history of psychology, education, and attention disorders. On the Canadian Club board, I am the Minister of Alumni Affairs, and look forward to strengthening our connections to Harvard Alumni in Canada, as well as building our network of Harvard Canadian alumni in the United States and abroad.
Nick Moore | Cultural and Bilingual Affairs (Minister of Official Languages)
Salut! I’m a Neurobiology ’14 concentrator in Eliot House planning a citation in French. My secondary field wil be in either East Asian Studies or Global Health & Health Policy. I was born in Vancouver, but I pledge allegiance to the Flames and Calgary, Alberta. Half my family is from Quebec and I grew up in French immersion, so in the capacity of Cultural and Bilingual Affairs I am on the lookout for events tied to uniquely Canadian language and food – including, of course, poutine. I also maintain our website. Apart from that, I’m an epeeist on the Harvard Fencing Team, a Director at Model United Nations conferences, and Production Co-Chair for An Evening With Champions 2012. For fun(draising), I’ve run the Boston Marathon in a burger suit. We can make our Canadian Club the tightest student group on campus, so get in touch with ideas about what you’d like to see!
Meghan Smith | Social Co-chair (Minister of Love)
My name is Meghan Smith. I’m from Campbell River, British Columbia! I have also lived in Ashcroft, Kamloops, and Invermere. I’m a neurobiology concentrator in the Class of 2013 in Leverett House and am a co-Minister of Love (social chair) with Gary Gerbrandt for the Canadian Club. Outside of the Canadian Club I am a co-President for Student Mental Health Liaisons, events Chair of Drug and Alcohol Peer Advisors, and the current secretary of Women in Science at Harvard-Radcliffe, and will be the co-President this upcoming year. In my spare time I row IM Crew, dance ballet, do yoga, and run. I have thoroughly enjoyed my time at Harvard, and especially enjoy being on the Canadian Club board. Please don’t hesitate to contact me if you have any questions or suggestions for future events! Canadian love <3

Outside of classes, I am also part of the Crimson Dance Team and I also serve on the House Council of my amazing house, Adams!
